If you are like me, you are having a hard time stomaching that Billy Long won the Republican nomination to replace Roy Blunt in Congress. Long claims he shares the same values as Southwest Missourians, but I can't bring myself to figure out what these values are. Long takes his family to Sin City for vacations, plays in the World Poker Tour, hangs out in local bars all over town, and well, the list goes on. These are the values of Ted Kennedy and not the values I want representing Southwest Missouri as a conservative Republican.
I hope you will consider looking at a qualified candidate who has a history of ethics in government. That's why I am launching Republicans for Scott Eckersley, a Web site dedicated to sharing with conservatives across Missouri's 7th Congressional District why Scott Eckersley would make a better Congressman than Long.
For those worried about him being a Democrat, Eckersley is pro-life, he isn't backed nationally or even by the state Democratic party. He is an independent minded conservative candidate who opposed Obamacare and realizes Nancy Pelosi doesn't have Southwest Missouri's best interest. Eckersley won't be a rubber stamp for the Obama agenda, and he supports the tea party movement.
With just less than 40 days to the November election, won't you take a good look at Scott Eckersley with an open mind and see that he represents the conservative values of Southwest Missouri better than Long does.
